Hypnobirthing

I often get asked, “Why did you choose HypnoBirthing over other natural childbirth methods?” First of all, I knew that I wanted to birth my child with the least amount of medical intervention, unless medically necessary. I wanted to birth in a hospital in the event that things didn’t go as I had planned, and I wanted to birth using an Obstetrician in the unlikely event that a Cesarean section was necessary.

I researched into Lamaze, Bradley and HypnoBirthing. It was HypnoBirthing that appealed to me the most. For me, the attraction was to be fully present mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically for the birth of my child while also creating a calm environment for my new baby to emerge into.

Drawing from my own personal experience of my two births using the HypnoBirthing natural childbirth techniques, as well as from my experience as a certified HypnoBirthing instructor, I am excited to share my passion for creating comfortable peaceful birthing experiences for moms as well as newborns.

So what is HypnoBirthing?

HypnoBirthing is a tried and tested method that lets you discover the joy and magic of birth. It is much more than just self-hypnosis or hypnotherapy, it is empowering for both mom and her birth companion. The method has been developed from the work of the British obstetrician, Grantly Dick-Read, the pioneer of natural childbirth.

It is deeply relaxing and effective, and allows your mind and your body to work in harmony, the way nature intended.

The advantage of using HypnoBirthing during childbirth is that it eliminates the Fear-Tension-Pain Syndrome before, during and after birthing. This allows the birthing mom’s muscles to relax and has the positive side-effect of a comfortable labor. The relaxation techniques implemented with a positive mindset eliminate or greatly reduce the need for chemical painkillers. These same techniques can actually shorten the first stage of labor by several hours and eliminate fatigue during labor, leaving the mother fresh, awake and with energy for actual birthing.

In short, HypnoBirthing returns birthing to the beautiful, peaceful experience nature intended and creates a more integral role for the birthing companion.
